QSpawn is a front end to Quake and Quake 2 under Windows 95/NT. You can download the unlimited use shareware version from the Files page.
Here is a screenshot of QSpawn version 1.63 shareware (17.5k).
The QSpawn 1.63 Upgrade has been sitting on my HDD for a while and has one minor bug fix - QSpawn would generate an error if you tried to allocate more than 31 meg of RAM for Quake or QuakeWorld clients. Only users that need this level of memory allocation require this version. There are no other changes than this one bug fix.
I just wanted to clarify what is happening over the next month or so with QSpawn:
- Except for bug fixes, there will be no more versions of QSpawn 1.x - I am all done with this one.
- I will slowly be building some User Interface demos that you can all download and give me feedback. I will be radically changing QSpawn's UI so that it will be better and more flexible in the future.
- I am currently working on a Quake 2 mod, so this will be my primary focus for a while.
- After the mod, the UI tests will be implimented in QSpawn2 due out some time in the next four months (big range so I can cover my a$$ :)
QSpawn is designed to be a 'single view' launcher for Quake and Quake 2 single player as well as Quake and Quake 2 dedicated servers. QSpawn can use ALL the current Quake executables.
Other QSpawn features include:
