| Technical Q and A |
You most likely have installed Quake 2 over top of Q2Test. Blow away Q2Test and reinstall Quake 2. Everything will be peachy.
If you do not have QSpawn, download the latest QSpawn archive, unzip it into a temporary directory, then run the Setup program.
If you have a version of QSpawn, download the QSpawn update archive and unzip it wherever you currently have QSpawn.
The MSVBVM50.DLL file is needed to run QSpawn. It can be found on the files page.
The imagehlp.DLL file is needed to run QSpawn. It can be found on the files page.
Removing QSpawn is a three step process. This still leaves one leftover Registry entry. Run RegEdit and find the key "
- From inside QSpawn, select the menu 'Tools', then 'Delete Registry entries'
- Exit QSpawn
- From Control Panel, run Add/Remove Programs and select to remove QSpawn
My Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VB and VBA Program Settings" and delete the QSpawn key.
My machine is a P166 with 32 Meg of RAM and a 17" monitor in 1024x768 mode using Visual Basic 5.
| Common Q and A |
QSpawn is a Windows 95 front end to launch Quake and Quake 2. It is written in Visual Basic 5.0 and is intended to be used for single player games and multiplayer games over Local Area Networks.
Any machine that you can happily run Quake under Windows 95 on.
I do not intend to target this area with anything more than allowing to 'Connect' to existing Quake/QuakeWorld servers of known addresses.
